The environmental crisis together with technological and socio-economic changes are posing complex challenges to our societies. What types of scientific knowledge and skills do the future generation need to confront and make change to solving these challenges?

To this aim, open schooling initiatives, where schools in cooperation with other stakeholders become agents of social change and work together for community well-being, offer a promising but also challenging approach. The seminar will introduce the SEAS project and offers reflections on open schooling and sustainability from varied perspectives.
